Biohacking Breakfast - Why High Fat is a Great Option

Biohacking Breakfast - Why High Fat is a Great Option

?They?re Great!?

Shut up, Tony  the "Tiger." Yes, they might taste great. We all know that Billy likes to shovel this high-carb, low-fat bowl of breakfast cereal down his gullet. Even though he's struggling to stay awake an hour into school, it is powering his C average.

They?re not great. They?re mediocre at best? At least for body composition and brain function.

Why am I putting Tony the "Tiger? on blast today? Because the social norm of eating empty carb cereal isn't good enough for me. Because we want to be exceptional. And because there is a better way to crush it in the gym; with energy that sustains even the most intense workouts, and energy that powers your brain and helps you to advance yourself in all areas of life.

If you ate what I am about to prescribe today, congratulations. You will retain all of this information. If you are eating what ?normal? people eat, then you might need to read this twice.

Here you go. The key to unlocking higher physical and mental functioning?

Biohacking breakfast | Avocado toast for your best performance.

Fat for Breakfast?

The brain is comprised of 60% fat. After eating things like corn flakes, your blood sugar will spike and then crash. This leads to varying degrees of energy, mental function and performance.

Long term carbohydrates abuse can lead to metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance), inflammation, and when combined with lack of activity, even type 2 diabetes. We still like carbs, but we need to temper these affects with protein and healthy fats.

Protein is essential for muscle growth and optimal function. The International Society of Sport Nutrition recommends one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight for athletes. Meaning, just get one gram per pound per day if you workout at all. This will be necessary for your first meal of the day as it also helps sustain consistent energy levels.

The main thing we want in the morning is fat, namely healthy fat of the omega-3 and monounsaturated kind with MCT?s added in.

Benefits of omega 3 fats:
  • Heart health
  • Acts as an anti-inflammatory to prevent joint pain and injuries
  • General brain function
  • Insulin sensitivity
Benefits of monounsaturated fats:
  • Reduced cholesterol levels
  • Prevention of heart disease and stroke
  • Fat loss
  • Joint health
  • Reduced belly fat
Benefits of MCT:
  • Appetite reduction
  • Fat loss
  • Improved cognition
  • Improved energy and performance
  • Improved mitochondrial function
  • The perfect breakfast
I have created some great breakfast options for you. Avocado on toast or sweet/baked potato with some whole, DHA or pastured eggs.

Eggs can add to your omega-3 fat intake. They are also are full of protein, with seven whopping grams per egg!
  • Whole eggs have 4% of your daily value (DV) of iron, 8% of your DV of phosphorus, 3% of your DV of zinc, 5% of your DV of folate, 4% vitamin A, 8% vitamin D, plus 26% choline and 191mg lutein and zeaxanthin
  • Whole eggs have around 5g fat
  • 7g high quality protein
Avocado is delicious and full of healthy - and I mean really healthy - fats!
  • Substantial source of monounsaturated fat
  • Contain more potassium than bananas for electrolyte balance
  • High in appetite-curbing fiber
  • Can lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels
Each  3.5oz serving contains:
  • Vitamin K: 26% of the RDA
  • Folate: 20% of the RDA
  • Vitamin C: 17% of the RDA
  • Potassium: 14% of the RDA
  • Vitamin B5: 14% of the RDA
  • Vitamin B6: 13% of the RDA
  • Vitamin E: 10% of the RDA
And Toast or potato provides slow digesting carbohydrate. Glucose is your body?s preferred energy source and while fats are great, we don't need to give up carbs. It is all about balance.

The Next Level in Morning Performance

This healthy breakfast is just one part of the puzzle. What if we had the perfect morning ritual to get you on track the perfect day? What if this one ritual could double how your body utilizes protein and amino acids?

By starting your day with Ambrosia Ritual AM? you get the perfect ratio of goBHB?, Clean Cream ?, and MCT for optimal physiological and mental function. We also added non-GMO whey protein Isolate to flood your body with fast-acting amino acids.

What is goBHB??

In essence, goBHB makes your body produce ketones. Ketones are the energy people use on ketogenic diets - it is PHENOMENAL for fat loss and brain function. But in my opinion, glucose is still needed by the body for optimal performance.

What if you could get all of the benefits of being in ketosis while still eating carbs? Ritual AM allows this to happen so you can enjoy carbs and still have the benefits of ketones.

With the addition of Velositol, scientifically shown to DOUBLE the power of protein and amino acids all day long, and the healthy fats from Clean Cream and the previously mentioned MCT?s, you are on your way to biohacking your brain and body to unprecedented performance.

Your Perfect Morning Plan

As soon as you wake up consume one scoop Ambrosia Ritual AM in water or coffee. It is a delicious treat to start your day.

If you perform cardio, the perfect time to do it is after your Ritual AM shake. If you weight train first thing in the morning, just add in your normal pre-workout shake like CLASH® and get at it then eat post workout. If you just eat breakfast, then just cook then eat.

Now it's meal time!

After taking your Ritual AM shake, eat your avocado toast. The amount of each can be tailored to meet your macronutrient needs. My personal intake is:
  • 2 slices Ezekiel bread toasted
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 3.5oz avocado
Eat, enjoy, and be prepared to turn every day into your best day!

Very interesting read. I love having a higher fat and protein breakfast. It keeps me full as a opposed to having protein and carbs.
