What You Need to Know

I don’t believe in magic training systems or rep ranges. My philosophy is simple: remain consistent, use the best possible exercises, focus upon progression and enter the gym looking to maximize each set. When you maximize each set, you maximize progress. Easy, obvious, insanely effective.

I am:

  • Editorial Director at Tiger Fitness.
  • An industry author who has written hundreds of lifting articles and workouts.
  • Ranked 8th all-time in my powerlifting class (over-40, SHW) with a 1,653 raw total.
  • A coach and trainer who has personally helped armies of lifters reach their goals.
  • A powerbuilder with 28 years gym experience who lives and breathes muscle and strength building.

My Book: Massive Iron

My book, Massive Iron, is for those of you that want to build as much muscle and strength as possible. It is not a bodybuilding or powerlifting book per se, but rather a collection of principles and tools that are meant to help the average lifter exceed their goals.

Consider it a base building book.

If you simply love training and want to get as big and strong as possible for the heck of it, then this is the book for you. Keep reading.

It's All About Results

It's all about results. I work my ass off to help folks reach their goals. In the last 5 years I’ve answered over 10,000 training questions, made 1,000 lifting videos, personally sponsored over 50 powerlifters and have written more than 1,000,000 words.

I enjoy doing what I can to help others achieve their goals and dreams. I don’t want to see anyone’s time in the gym wasted.

It's All About The Bigger Picture

Unique training programs are a dime a dozen. While they are useful tools, don’t buy into the hype that any single workout system is magic. This is nonsense.

This industry is filled with a ton of opinions and workouts but very few individuals who have taken the time to understand the bigger picture. What is the bigger picture? That nearly everything works if you know the foundational principles that create gym success.

I’ve studied the training habits of 1,000’s of top-level bodybuilders and powerlifters. You know what I've found? They all train differently. This reveals a bigger picture: that everything can work if you understand the mechanisms that drive gains.

Instead of presenting you with magic programs, I’ll show you how to maximize nearly any training system. This is the core of my training philosophy and articles.

You don’t need my programs or articles to be successful. You don’t need any single system of training to reach your goals, I don’t care what anyone tells you. I don’t elevate trainers, workouts or coaches above the truth. I let the truth speak for itself, because it yields the results you are after.

Can I Help You?

If you’re frustrated by a lack of progress in the gym, I'm here to help. Feel free to leave a question below, or on one of my articles.

I will do my best to help you focus on what's important, and what you can control. This will allow you to reach your goals in an efficient manner – whatever they may be.

I’m not just a strength coach, muscle building coach or fat loss coach. I am all 3 of these, but more. I’m not here to judge your goals, but rather to help you to exceed them.

There are very few things I haven’t personally tried or accomplished during the last 28 years. I spent 21 years in the bodybuilding realm before venturing off into powerlifting. I’ve lost weight, bulked, gotten inhumanly strong, and remain pretty darn big at the age of 47.

I’ve tried 99% of the stuff floating around in the lifting and nutrition realms. My goal is to help you save some time, discard the nonsense and move forward as quickly as possible.
