Becoming a fit individual is not necessarily a difficult undertaking, but it does require some basic fundamentals for success. There is no one secret formula, no magical recipe, and no one size fits all mentality for becoming fit physically, mentally, and emotionally.

However, fit individuals do carry some of the same common traits amongst them necessary for ultimately achieving the ideal physique. Many people strive to obtain these bodies within their lifetimes but few actually will take the appropriate steps necessary.

By simply implementing some of these attributes in your daily lives you will be able to achieve the highest level of fitness you inspire to reach.

7 Healthy Habits

Habit #1 – Consistency

Fit CoupleWhether you are hoping to deadlift 600 pounds or obtain a lean physique with the resemblance of a Greek god, you must be consistent day in and day out. This means going to the gym several times per week (preferably 5 or more) to achieve the best results possible.

There is no way you may expect to get amazing results going to the gym twice this week, once next week, etc. We are what we repeatedly do therefore excellence is not an act but a habit.

The same thing is true of diet. Eat nutritious whole foods a majority of the time to obtain the best results from both a physique and overall health perspective. Constantly sabotaging your diet with pizza and ice cream will have devastating results on your body in the long run.

Habit #2 – Dedication

Being dedicated means that no matter what the circumstances (bearing any major serious catastrophic event) you will do anything and everything within your power to make it to the gym and perform your workout. This also entails making healthy food choices even while eating out.

Picking the right option when left with an abundance of choices. Choosing to stay in when everyone else is going out. No matter how you feel or what your state of mind is you constantly stick to the plan.

Habit #3 – Focus

Although focus may not seem like the most crucial aspect to achieving fitness success, it is as important if not more important than all the other variables. If you go into the gym with the state of mind of doing only half of what you are capable of then you will not reach optimal strength and muscle hypertrophy levels.

Making that ever so important mind muscle connection is vital to achieving your goals.

Habit #4 – Desire

You must have the desire from within to want to be great and want to be the best. If you cannot truly tell yourself you have that tiny flame, that spark, that internal fire then you will never truly be able to reach the epitome of your personal goals.

What the mind believes, the body will manifest it to fruition. Want that body of a Greek bad enough and it will become nearly impossible not to get it.

Habit #5 – Determination

Become one with your goals and have the absolute killer mentality that no matter what difficulties and circumstances are surrounding your current situation, you will be able to mentally push past these barriers before reaching the final outcome. Determination means that the never say die mentality must come from within you and always be a part of your personal psyche.

Habit #6 – Hardwork

Perhaps you are struggling to lose weight or maybe you have hit what appears to be a neverending plateau in the pursuit of your goals. Someone once said that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

Anyone and everyone can have an idea but there are only a select few people that are able to act upon these ideas and bring them to life. Making your imagination a reality is a concept that few are able to grasp though many will try.

Habit #7 – No Excuses

The people that are truly and 100% dedicated to their goals will have no difficulty obtaining the motivation and desire to be great. This same group of people will not make excuses.

They will wake up at 4:00am without hitting the snooze button, guzzle down their favorite pre-workout, and drive straight to the gym. These people will never say forget this or have the thought that it’s simply not worth it.

Absolutely no excuses will stand in the way of achieving their goals.

Wrap Up

Becoming a fit individual with an amazing physique is not rocket science but it does take a common set of variables that must be in place. All the habits necessary for success should be thought of as puzzle pieces.

Once each and every piece fits in with one another cohesively and you can mentally allow yourself to reach these goals you will be able to achieve massive amounts of success both in and out of the gym.
